There’s never been a better time to get on a bike! Bike Week 2026 will run from Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 17. It’s easy, fun and there’s something for everyone.
Enjoy a wide range of events from community and school cycles, fun bike festivals, safety workshops and much more.

Women's Gravel CycleThis Bike Week Women's Introductory Gravel Cycle is promoted by Longford Cycling and Racing Club. The event will take novice and intermediate cyclists over two distances, 30k and 50k, across cycling trails and Royal Canal Greenway in South Longford. The event will be focused on given women and enjoyable and safe introduction to gravel cycling. Bikers Lunch Join us for our #BikeWeek workers guided cycle around Longford Town, followed by some lunch al fresco. We are encouraging all workers in Longford town and surrounding areas to come out on your lunch break and join us as we cycle 7K around Longford town. Lunch will be provided afterwards. Older Adult Greenway Cycle Our Older Adult Royal Canal Greenway Cycle will take place on Friday May 15. This cycle for Bike Week will take place along the Royal Canal Greenway from Clondra. This guided leisure cycle will cover a distance of up to 15K. Royal Canal Greenway Leisure CycleOur Royal Canal Greenway Leisure Cycle for Bike Week 2026 will take place on Saturday May 16 at 11am. Our route takes us along the Royal Canal to Killashee and return for our 15K option and to Kenagh and return for our 30k option. A limited number of bike are available. Helmets must be worn and your bike must be roadworthy and safe. Learn to Cycle Taster Sessions Join us for Inclusive Learn to Cycle Taster Sessions at Longford Sports Hub (Longford Athletic Centre)! Bike Week 2026

Bike Week is a celebration and promotion of all that's great about bikes and cycling. It is held over a week in May of each year with bike themed events organised throughout the Country.
This year Bike Week runs from May 9 to May 17.
