Go for Life grants get older people more active

The Go for Life Small Grant Scheme is now open. The scheme is aimed at encouraging older participants and is used by groups to buy equipment, run sports events or try new activities. Applications have already begun to arrive from groups and clubs that cater to older people across Ireland.

The Small Grant Scheme is a joint initiative between Age & Opportunity's Go for Life programme and the Irish Sports Council. Now in its eleventh year, it has, so far, awarded almost €4million in nearly 8,000 grants. This year, €300,000 will be allocated to groups and clubs. Each grant awarded will be between €300 and €700.

The closing date for applications is Friday, 26 September 2014.  Application forms are available on the Age & Opportunity website www.ageandopportunity.ie or from the Go for Life office on 01 805 7733 or you can download here.

Go for Life is the national programme for sport and physical activity for older people.  Go for Life is an Age & Opportunity initiative which is funded by the Irish Sports Council.
